Simulation Engineer, Parker Hannifin, Urjala Finland

Our Hydraulic and Industrial Process Filtration Division, EMEA provides products, systems, and solutions for filtering and condition monitoring purposes. Working within the Technology development team, Simulation Engineer will be the main "go to" person to support the division's engineering simulation needs to provide customer sales growth, new product design timeline reduction, component supplier cost down support, etc

In this position, you will:

  • Work with Marketing to perform hydraulic tank designs through CFD simulations and validation of the same to support growth within our OEMS.
  • Support Lab in validating testing of the solutions created.
  • Run customer site testing for tank solutions developed.
  • Support New Product Development Team (NPD) with CFD simulations to help narrow down the testing needs and provide optimum fluid flow and performance within our new products being developed.
  • Carry out CFD simulation on existing products to help drive product improvements, cost downs, etc.
  • Carry out FEA analysis for current products to drive cost down activities and to support NPD to drive out cost of the new products being developed.
  • Ensure that quality procedures and processes are created, maintained and updated to create consistency of simulations.
  • Create and maintain library of data required to drive consistency in simulations carried out.
  • Identify simulation needs and gaps and implement plans to close agreed gaps.
  • Development of simulation tools and processes, as well as training programs.
  • Support Marketing team with required models for documentation, presentation needs etc. and on customer technical visits/ calls with required technical support.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • You hold a suitable education (e.g. M. Sc. or B. Sc.) in a relevant Engineering discipline (mechanical/mechatronic).
  • Advanced user of Autodesk - Inventor, Autodesk Fusion 360, Ansys - Fluent, Ansys - Discovery ja Ansys - DesignXplorer
  • Proven engineering design background, minimum 3 years experience
  • Comfortable presenting solutions at all levels
  • Good customer interaction skills
  • Able to effectively plan and carry out product testing needs.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Decisive, tenacious and resilient way of working
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following markets/ technologies would be advantageous - filtration or separation technologies, hydraulic technologies, mobile market, marine market, Oil and Gas markets, Power Generation market
  • Fluent English and Basic level Finnish skills are essential.
